What you can check
- Start with a free read-only scan on a compatible petrol or diesel car.
- Use one Android workflow across the mixed brands common on UK roads.
- Upgrade to Full Access only after the free scan shows the adapter and the car can talk.
United Kingdom
An OBD2 scanner app turns the phone you already have into the display. The adapter plugs into the 16-pin socket under the dash. BTK-Auto talks to a compatible classic Bluetooth ELM327 adapter over Android. The car data stays on the phone. The website is only for the account, the licence and the APK.
Basic Scan is the free read: stored codes, pending codes, VIN, check-engine status and voltage, when the car provides them. Full Access is the paid layer for live data, supported multi-ECU checks, readiness, clears and a printable workshop note.
This is aimed at UK drivers and independent garages who already own, or can buy, a normal ELM327 adapter. It is not a locked dongle that only works with one brand of app.
