Basic Scan · Free
Diagnose a check-engine light
Read stored and pending OBD-II fault codes, VIN, MIL status and voltage where the vehicle exposes them.
Android workshop diagnostics
Pair a compatible classic Bluetooth ELM327-style adapter, run a free read-only Basic Scan, and unlock advanced diagnostics, multi-ECU access and supported service procedures with Full Access. No separate proprietary diagnostic tablet is required for the functions BTK-Auto supports.
The useful question in a workshop is not which protocol acronym is present. It is what job you can complete from the phone in your hand.
Basic Scan · Free
Read stored and pending OBD-II fault codes, VIN, MIL status and voltage where the vehicle exposes them.
Full Access
View RPM, vehicle speed, coolant temperature, engine load, throttle, intake temperature, MAF and module voltage where supported.
Full Access
Use supported CAN and UDS paths for multi-ECU diagnostics, including additional VAG targets where implemented.
Full Access
Review OBD-II readiness and emissions monitor state as an advisory pre-check before a statutory inspection.
Full Access
Clear standard or supported module-specific DTCs where the vehicle and diagnostic path support the operation.
Full Access
Selected throttle, steering-angle and TPMS workflows are implemented, with availability depending on the exact vehicle and ECU.
Full Access
Create a supported adaptation backup before making compatible service changes, with restore available where supported.
Full Access
Generate a printable workshop report and keep a diagnostic activity record for supported operations.
BTK-Auto is built around hardware many workshops and car owners already understand: an Android phone or tablet and a compatible Bluetooth ELM327-style adapter. The adapter provides the vehicle link; BTK-Auto provides the diagnostic workflow, interpretation and supported advanced access.
1 · Pair
Pair the classic Bluetooth adapter in Android settings.
2 · Connect
Open BTK-Auto and connect to the paired adapter.
3 · Diagnose
Start free with Basic Scan, then use supported Full Access tools when needed.
Basic Scan is deliberately read-only. Full Access adds the advanced diagnostic and service paths below where the vehicle, ECU and adapter support them.
Classic Bluetooth SPP adapter; pair it in Android settings first.
Standard OBD-II where the vehicle exposes them.
Standard OBD-II where supported.
Only when the vehicle or ECU exposes VIN over the supported diagnostic path.
Standard OBD-II.
Depends on adapter or ECU support.
RPM, speed, coolant, engine load, throttle, intake temperature, MAF and module voltage.
Vehicle, ECU and adapter dependent.
Standard CAN targets; additional VAG targets are implemented.
Advisory only; not an MOT, APK or other legal inspection certificate.
Built-in DTC guidance is available for known cases; unknown codes fall back to general diagnostic guidance.
Available only where the supported diagnostic path allows it.
Only on supported ECUs and diagnostic paths.
Selected throttle, steering-angle and TPMS workflows are implemented; other service routines remain compatibility-dependent.
Only where supported; not immobiliser or key programming.
Available for supported procedures and compatible vehicle contexts.
Printable HTML report; PDF saving depends on the Android print path.
Supported diagnostic operations can be recorded for workshop traceability.
These are the current brand-aware vehicle families used by BTK-Auto. Basic Scan uses standard OBD-II and may also work on other compatible vehicles outside this list. Brand recognition indicates routing support; it does not guarantee every advanced procedure on every model or year.
Real vehicle testing will be used to build a separate hardware-verified compatibility record over time.
Basic Scan performs no vehicle writes. Full Access separates read-only diagnostics from actions that can change vehicle state, and supported write operations require user confirmation and compatibility checks.
No. BTK-Auto is an Android app. You use your Android phone or tablet with a compatible classic Bluetooth ELM327-style adapter.
Yes. Basic Scan is read-only and does not require a paid licence. It covers compatible adapter connection, stored and pending OBD-II codes, VIN, MIL status and voltage where available.
Yes with Full Access, where the supported diagnostic path is available. Clear and write operations require confirmation and safety checks.
BTK-Auto includes supported multi-ECU CAN and UDS paths. Exact module coverage depends on the vehicle, ECU and adapter.
Basic Scan uses standard OBD-II and may work on other compatible vehicles even when BTK-Auto does not yet have brand-aware routing for that manufacturer. Advanced module and service coverage can differ.
The app currently recognises 22 brand names across its brand-aware vehicle families. Recognition does not guarantee that every advanced function works on every model or model year.
No. Basic OBD-II may work on low-cost clones while advanced CAN or UDS commands fail. Adapter quality matters.
BTK-Auto is designed as a practical mobile diagnostic tool, not as a claim of universal dealer-tool parity. Some manufacturer-specific and online-authorised procedures remain outside scope.
No. Key programming, immobiliser programming, odometer modification and ECU firmware flashing are not supported.
Download BTK-Auto, pair a compatible ELM327 adapter and run Basic Scan free. If the vehicle and adapter support the advanced paths you need, Full Access unlocks the rest.
